It was a lot of fun to watch, but there are some weird bits like the excessive nudity (it’s not the worst in terms of sexualization, but it’s still very unnecessary) and that whole 'in love with coach' subplot that comes out of nowhere and feels like it betrays Kazumi's character.
I did really enjoy how it played with time dilation, and how it made that the emotional core (minus the coach thing), which almost made me cry. What’s kind of strange is that people go from having conflict with each other to being best friends within the next scene.
Plus, I have nothing to support this, but I'd like to think that you can see when GAINAX realized they could make more with their budget and the exact sequence where they ran out of said budget.
