one of the first tv shows i fell in love with — i think my family has seen this 3 or 4 times
as a show it has its flaws (mainly just filler and some slow pacing), but this is a gargantuan mystery that’s really impressively unraveled
strongly recommend reading the show description if you haven’t heard of this
anime level stakes, space epic / political intrigue / mystery, and — the most impressive part of all — it’s more than 20 years old
score by bear mccreary is an all timer — go listen to kara remembers on spotify right now if you want to understand the vibe of this show

That one dude really fucked everything up and managed to not only get away with it, survive in a position of relative power, remove an imposter, and still have relations with the machine pretty lady, talk about lucky.

SO SAY WE ALL!!
This is more specifically for the Mini Series but I will start with the fact that Battlestar is still one of the best Sci-Fi Series out there. An incredible cast, some amazing twists and will give you plenty of philosophical questions to make you lay awake at night.
The Mini Series alone though that kicked off the reboot is great. I’m glad they began it like that because it gave them a lot of time to really introduce everything rather than it being a rushed mess at the start of the season. It starts off slowly letting you see the ‘peace’ the human race has many years after the war and then absolutely turns the table and let’s you feel the fear and panic everyone feels.
From the get you you get some great performances especially from Edward James Olmos.
And a final thing that I always loved about Battlestar was both how they always pose the questions between religion and science but also how they really show the culture that they have in this show and how it makes it feel akin to our reality but still give it that sci-fi feel.

Steigt schwerfällig ein, ebnet aber den Weg zu der vielleicht besten SciFi-Serie aller Zeiten. Die ist in ihrer Vielschichtigkeit und düsteren Sogkraft bis heute einzigartig.
