I think it's a 4 cause what was that ending?!?! I am so confused the whole point of the series was to find out what happened in that damn cellar no? So what happened in that damn cellar?!?! Anyway extra half star cause of that damn yearning and grace's face was really creepy for some reason

“if we were all on trial for our thoughts, we would all be hanged” - grace marks
it hurts my brain for the answer she did it or not but if she did it, she has reasons, like million reason AND I SUPPORT HER. grace is so smart like she has control over everything, she can do that because of her trauma and her experiences, she knows exactly what to say and what not to say to dr. jordan. she controls the narrative, and i am so proud of her for having that power.
what makes her story painful is mary whitney. mary was her only real friend the one person who stood by her, and loved her without conditions. they laughed together, made fun of people together, and shared a kind of freedom grace rarely had. and then that was taken away from her. losing mary feels like the moment grace truly lost safety in her life.
i dont actually know whether she did it with mcdermott or not, because this series never gives a real answer and that ambiguity is intentional. but this exposes how easily society believes men, and how hard women must suffer just to be considered believable. women are allowed to be complex, not just innocent or evil.

Unapologetically mediocre. Would recommend reading before watching, inaccuracies are noticeable but don’t overshadow much of what is portrayed. Margret Atwood’s cameo was exciting along with most of the acting. Anna Paquin as pleasant as her acting is, her kiwi accent definitely shown through and was at times bothersome but that’s far more an idiosyncratic view of mine and by no means criticism.
