Okay so I grabbed this out of my dad's VHS collection purely out of curiosity. I only watched part one. Had no clue what was going on tbh but the metal gore vibes were so off the charts I am tempted to give this a high rating. Gonna have to find the other parts to fully give this it's just desserts.

God this fucks! The excessive gore, the synth soundtrack, the mixed media, everything I fuck with found in this 5 episode ova. Genuinely sad we don’t get these anymore cause these heavily resonate with me.
People not as cool as me would complain about the narrative, but I ain’t about that life. All I need to see is some animated guts flying and I’m a happy guy and this is some of the best animated gore out there. Unending senseless violence, humans turning into blood piñatas spraying the screen with gore. The narrative takes a backseat early on because they know what you’re here for. You wanna see the eyes pop out of a little anime boys head.
Funnily enough the story gets really meditative and self reflective in its final act and I really fuck with it. The ending of Genocyber grapples with how humans attempt to make sense of senseless tragedy and if our evil can become so great that it warrants our death. The show ending on a truly biblical scale with the death of the modern world only leaving a man, women, and their child. A new garden of Eden. It’s such a change of pace and a genuinely insane thing to do for such an exploitative series but it really works for me. Some rad shit, true japanimation kino.

Genocyber does so so many things right in my eyes, it’s got cool ass robots killing the shit out of everything, very very violent material and absolutely off the fucking walls insane gore, beautiful animation and unique artsyle, and a very creative design like great design for the robots and show overall, like even the name Genocyber is just so fucking cool to me man.
I really do like a lot of things about Genocyber however, the story is absolute nonsense not only to me, but to a lot of people and that’s a damn shame. Maybe i just didn’t get it? but in my eyes it’s just a really confusing and poorly put together story that just makes no goddamn sense, i even looked it up to understand it nope google just said it was just the twin sisters combine together and make genocyber, which i already knew? like huhhhh? Maybe i need to watch a video analysis on the story, but it just made no damn sense and sadly the more the episodes went on, the more boring and confusing it got. 
I know i just kinda bashed the hell out of it just then, but I don’t want to. This show like i said, does so so so many cool things and i do not hate it at all no it’s very very cool, I would definitely rewatch it for how creative and cool it is, I just wish it had a more engaging story and better characters but hey, overall it’s pretty awesome And i just have a very big soft spot for old anime.
