This mini-series brings a interesting premise, but the uninteresting characters and construction inhibit any weight that it could have. The same happens with how things feel, nothing seems important, and nothing seems to have any kinda of interesting stakes or payoffs. If you threw this series into a coffee filter, took what was left [over] and turned it into a movie, it would certainly be something much more enjoyable to consume (following the same way Garland did in the past with Ex Machina). Speaking of characters, the most charismatic one only appears in 5% of the total, the rest of them sound apathetic, lukewarm, and depressing, when 95% of the cast acts this way, the whole project feels limited, limiting the apparent risk of everything. In the end everyone acts like is just another tuesday, slightly atipic with everyone in it doing arse faces. Uninteresting characters combined with the bad performances makes an awful cast of people to follow.
