Revenge

Started of incredibly strong with a more dramatic approach which I actually enjoyed quite a bit, especially the Junko and Ai stuff.

But in my opinion the whole ending was a bit cheesy and over the top, which I didn’t mind much in particular but I could see being kind of cringe for some people.

Overall a solid season two with highs and lows. Also I didn‘t expect this to turn into a period piece drama for two episodes but I’ll take it.

Season 1

This has to be one of the craziest Ideas for a show I’ve ever seen and I’m happy to finally get around to watch it after putting it of for so long.

Like already mentioned the premise is obscure as hell but they somehow make it work, in both the dramatic and comedy moments.
The characters all have very vibrant and fun personalities that work of each other well, also it’s fun to learn all of the backstories piece by piece.
And also, while this definitely also is a parody on the whole „girl band“ anime genre I think this still is a very good example on how to do those kind of shows right, even if the unique spins helps the shows charm a lot.

And something that doesn’t have anything to do with this directly but my god I love Miyano Mamoru. I mean I already loved him in Durarara and Death Note but I’ve just now realized how ridiculously good he is in comedic roles. I fucking love him as Mendo in the Urusei Yatsura remake and here he also smashes it as „Shades“. Seriously this guy has the most hilarious screams I’ve heard in a while and his vocal delivery on pretty much everything is awesome.

So overall a great Idol show and I can’t wait to watch season two.
