Sobering sequel to an otherwise lighthearted and fun show. Wish it wasn't so rushed

Steven Universe was the first ever piece of media that made me cry during consuming it.
This show is a psychological horror for empaths with low self-esteem .

I hate hate hate the trope of separating an amazing, completing each other family. I hated the ending not because it was bad but because the Steven in SUF is so different from the 14yo Steven that if they met the younger one would try to fix the elder one even though at the end there was nothing left to fix and I hate it because it made me cry.
Watching Steven falling deeper into the rabbit hole his mom left and which he deepen himself was an experience. An addictive and disturbing experience, especially when you can relate to 16yo Steven. You just knew that at some point it will be him that's gonna become the villain of his own story and you just waited for the breaking point and there it came.

As for the whole show, it's worth watching at any age and it's wonderfully emotionally written. Seriously, I've never encountered any piece of media that paid so much attention to emotions and how treat and deal with them and it's done amazingly.
Even though I consumed this show in the span of 4 days, watching Steven grow up and mature felt like loosing a part of my inner child and a reminder that soon there will be nothing left of a person I once wanted to become.
I think we can all collectively agree that Pink Diamond was a horrible person and mother that in the desire of freedom, hurt many beings, including those not created yet and Steven had every right to end up as he did. She used Pearl's feelings to get away with her actions, endangered the whole universe with her actions knowing well that it'll end that way and instead of clearing her mess she decided to do the thing that was her inspiration from the beginning, she wanted to create life from nothing while not understanding how emotions work and it resulted in traumatizing and giving depression to an innocent child. (btw Garnet's my fav)

I don't know if watching the show as a child and seeing the movie and the miniseries as a teenager would destroy me even more or cured me but I won't find out anyway so why even think about this. Gay lesbian rocks may be the best show for any ages oat
