Tokyo Drifter

"Where is he? that vagabond, always drifting, always alone" -quote from the theme song played in this movie this might possibly be the most beautiful movie ever, i've never seen a movie use colours in such a stylish way that wasn't wong kar wai. i'm like a massive fan of old movies in colour, they're just so colourful unlike movies today that are really dull most of the time. this is also one of the coolest movies ever, so much stylish sequences and those fight scenes are so fucking cool, the way they're shot along with its colourful set just makes it one of the most stylish pieces of art ever created. calling this a movie is just an understatement, it's really more of a painting. so many beautiful shots and sets that it's hard to describe this as a movie. the story in itself is known to be incomprehensible, i rlly enjoyed it tho, i love the entire theme of loyalty and sense of duty and how those themes also fit into the theme song that's played throughout the movie and even sung by the main character which was just such a funny and cool ass choice to make. when he's singing it while beating up the viper it's honestly so hilarious yet cool as fuck. the pacing in this is spectacular, obviously due to its short length it's gonna be quick paced but even the way this movie flows is just so smooth and it's so incredible how consistently this movie flows in such a smooth way, especially considering its convoluted plot. for me this is definitely an essential japanese movie, if ur trying to get into japanese cinema and i don't get how this is only a 3.8 as i believe this is one of cinemas greatest achievements and that it should be ranked among one of the greatest japanese movies. the soundtrack is just fantastic, i love the theme song and i just liked the other songs that played throughout. the ending is good and i don't have any problems w it. overall this movie is just a visual masterpiece and i have a massive soft spot for colourful 1960's movies and i also happen to have a soft spot for yakuza flicks so both combined is just a dream come true for me. amazing movie
