Sinners

i think sinners is still an amazing film and theres so much to respect and admire about it, the score, the sound design, the cinematography. that one scene omg… especially its themes and overall ambition. but for me, the pacing doesnt fully land emotionally, and the ending feels a bit abrupt…? i actually love the messages behind it, but at times it feels like it doesnt fully trust the audience. the dialogue can be very direct, almost telling us the themes, and even the editing revisits certain moments instead of letting audiences figure it out for themselves. because of that, i dont always feel like im discovering meaning on my own. its more that i admire the film intellectually than feel completely immersed in it emotionally, which leaves me appreciating it deeply but not fully moved by it. still really wonderful.
