Interstellar
"Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends time and space."
I can die happy. I have now seen Interstellar in IMAX. I genuinely feel like I’ve just had a once-in-a-lifetime cinema experience. The new Odeon Luxe in Bristol has just opened, and they showed Interstellar on their new IMAX screen, and honestly, I wasn't prepared for how overwhelming, emotional, and jaw-dropping it would be.
I’ve loved Interstellar for ages, but seeing it in IMAX is a completely different beast. It feels different. The scale, the sound, the immersion… it’s finally seeing the film exactly how it was meant to be seen.
Gargantua in IMAX was on another level. The sheer size and detail of that black hole is genuinely terrifying and beautiful at the same time. And Miller’s Planet was unreal, every wave feel colossal.
Matthew McConaughey is just extraordinary. Anne Hathaway is phenomenal, her speech about love gave me goosebumps. Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Matt Damon, every single performance feels more powerful in IMAX.
Hans Zimmer’s score in IMAX was fucking life-changing. The organ. The bass. It vibrates through your chest like a physical experience. The docking scene alone nearly stopped my heart.
You have not lived until you have seen Interstellar in IMAX. This is cinema in its purest, most emotional, most spectacular form.
I’m seeing Wuthering Heights on IMAX on Monday, because this is how films are meant to be seen.
Five stars isn’t enough. This was unforgettable.
