HOLY SHMIT I DIDN'T EXPECT TO LIKE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH LOVE YOU PR MACHAAAA
Dude > Love Today > Dragon 🙂↕️
Anyways idk man I had a lot of fun with this one. It's your typical Tamil/Telugu ka honor killing story with the bava-maradalu romance BUT what makes this fun was the 1) Gen Z taking and 2) THE MAN PRADEEP RANGANATHAN omg I was SEATED CUZ OF THIS GUY. First half ka Pradeep Ranganathan aka Dude felt like a reflection of my own self (which acc doesn't make sense cuz somehow I've been find these obnoxious, flashy characters relatable even though people who know me irl would most def describe me to be the complete opposite of these personalities so idk man maybe I have DID) (and by "these personalities" I mean Gagan and Tillanna 😭), like it was insane how relatable I found him. Even though the twists were not too surprising (it could also be cuz I knew about the plot before watching the movie) I enjoyed the first half to the fullest. Pradeep Ranganathan stole the show with his comical cartoony expressions that fit the vibe of the movie perfectly, along with cutie Mamitha Baiju's performance and of course my man Sai Abhyankkar's music (great music but I wish he hadn't cut out parts of songs tho but issok I've been looping this album anyway so) (also idi gurthupettukondi, tharuvatha matladukundham). I was basically at a 4.5 or a 5 by the end of the first half, I was laughing my ahh off the whole time
Second half ki oche sariki it wasn't too bad, it kinda loses its vibe but there's just so much going on and ig it made sense with the situation, like the transition from Dude to Devdas felt pretty organic to me. It does go downhill from the first half, it tends to get more serious in tone plus having watched Aarya 2 thousands of times as a child did not help either, but I never felt disconnected with the plot and still had a lot of fun even though I hate Pardhu with a passion now ❤️
I think what made me enjoy this the most was (after Sai Abhyankkar ofc) (malli matladukundham) was PRADEEP RANGANATHAN BRO FIRST HALF LO AITHE I FELT LIKE I WAS WATCHING MY INNER SOUL IN GAGAN IT WAS INSANE, the way we process emotions the way we think the way we hear so much shit that we don't deserve to hear (ex. Kumudha's visa rejection scene 😭😭😭), idk bout him as Devdas (could never be me) but him as Dude somehow felt SO real
Mild spoiler ahead:
What made me empathize with Gagan was Kumudha being such a red flag 😭 bro friend aithe vaadu sachipoyina parleda? Vaadu ninnu love chesadu ani thelisakane sudden ga realize ayyava "arey what'll happen to his future after I leave him" ani ⁉️ man that triggered smth in me like YALL IS BROS BEFORE H**S NOT A THING ANYMORE CHI SMH KUMUDHA
And girl, Pardhu > Gagan aa hello ⁉️😭 HOW and WHY BRO IS SO IMMATURE FOR HIS AGE I lost it at that visa rejection scene poor Gagan man :')
I was gonna give this a 3.5, but seeing all the PR hate on this app and the way everyone's dissing Kumudha for moving on "so fast" while no one questioned Gagan for moving on from her at the very end, I really want to give this a 4. Loved watching Gagan tho, and love love love PR

Now, I would like to take a moment to mention why I watched this movie despite being so confident that I would rate this < 3.
1) "Oorum Blood Unplugged".
When "Oorum Blood" came out, I was in India in the midst of a wedding, and as soon as I got on the flight back home I was catching up with Sai Abhyankkar's music (this and "Vizhi Veekura") and instantly fell in love with this one and loved all the edits that came with this song. After a point, I would play the song just to scroll to the love portion of it and it somehow always boosted my mood.
And then came the unplugged version. And I absolutely lost my shit over it. To start off, I was listening to it on loop and even downloaded YT Music JUST to loop this song on my way to college, in college, and on my way back home. And then my feed was FLOODED with SSE edits with this song. And then after that trance I kept looping it even more. And every single time I listened to it I went into this weird trance, as if I had my own loml or as if my own loml was leaving me or smth (idek what that even feels like lmfao). I've accidentally ignored people at college cuz I didn't notice them until they tapped on my shoulder cuz I was so into the song 😭
There are certain songs that can genuinely make me cry even though I don't associate anything or anyone with the emotions in those songs, and this is one of them. I was, am, and will prob be obsessed with this song forever. Thank you Sai Abhyankkar.
1.5) NUVVALA RAASUKUNE CHANDANAMAI DIDDUKUNE KUMKUMANAI UNTANE NEETHONE ISHTAMGA UNCHUKOVE 🗣🗣🗣 future man take notes (like write down the lyrics to this song so that you can ask me out by singing this to me hehe)
2) I thought the trailer was mid okay, but UNTIL. UNTIL. UNTIL THE OORUM BLOOD UNPLUGGED VERSION 2 PLAYED WITH MAMITHA'S EYES FULL OF JOY AND TEARS AND JUST SHEER LOVE. Aa trailer ni enni saarlu chusano asalu, just to forward to Mamitha's teary eyes. It's not really about her but damn bruh being in love looks nice and it's just been so long since I've felt anything that's remotely like that and I want to feel it again but I also hate men and people in general so 😭 yeah romantic love is cool ig
Anyways chaala matladesanu already, but Dude has really exceeded my expectations. It's not unique when it comes to the plot line in general, but the Gen-Z touch, Sai Abhyankkar, and Pradeep Ranganathan will def make you seated for the entire movie. This will def be one of my repeated movies :) YUMBABAIBEBAIBESA DIWALI KE PATTASA 😎🤙🏼
Brb otw to name my future baby Mallannasamy 👶
(avunu ra why did Amudha leave Gagan YOU CAN'T LEAVE US HANGING LIKE THAT)
