Poor Things

I don’t know what to say about Poor Things other than that it is delightfully bizarre.  Poor Things is a fever dream filled to the brim with insane set pieces and effects, beautiful cinematography, and interesting characters.  The acting here is top notch. Emma Stone put her all into this role. Seriously, she pulled out all the stops I truly think there’s nothing better she could have done. Should be a lock for the Oscar’s in my opinion. The rest of the cast was great also, specifically Ruffalo. I’m so glad to see him out of the Marvel cycle, playing a uniquely hilarious character. Every line he had made me laugh out loud in the theater.  This played out as a sort of coming of age story, something that I wasn’t expecting at all. Not only that, Lanthimos it does it in a truly unique way. Seeing an adult woman have no preexisting knowledge and encounter the real world was so interesting, and I honestly felt like I could’ve watched this for another hour.  Don’t rob yourself of the experience, please go see this in theaters.
