Had to sit on this for a couple days and I realized I fucking love it. The soundtrack is so fucking great and I love how stylistic the characters and animation were. Gainax creates peak per usual.
I love how everything is just tied to absurdity and a narrative is difficult to find if you are just watching on the surface. For example, the title “Fooly Cooly” is just complete nonsense, a term with many different meanings, which ties itself to the show where random shit happens. It doesn’t matter if you can find a narrative or not, it’s so beautifully animated and I truly believe everybody should watch it at least once in their lifetime.
