don’t get me wrong, it fs is a great follow up to the second season, and it was always going to be hard to compete w s1, but i just don’t find as many zany elements in the cinematography or plot lines in general that felt like absolute a24 staples in s1.  firstly, the casting really was amazing for this. shame it took frankenstein for me to wake up to oscar isaac but he’s such a great guy. and for all the characters, there were distinct moments where i felt respectively sorry and then angry at each of them. the story does really well, although sometimes i thought the pacing or the choices were a bit amiss. like some of the deeper convos felt a tiny bit forced, especially for melton’s character. and i noticed some editing issues, or at least a lack of effortlessness changing that it’s normally so good at, especially at the hospital.  i do think the ending was just trying to purposefully give the audience not what they want and ig that’s fine even if it left me annoyed. but for s1, it was achieved in a similar style but still just felt more justified and necessary to the story, whereas here they just use the ‘8 years later’ title card to excuse and gloss over all of the hurt that charles and cailee had done unto one another. just didn’t make sense. also what happened to eunice? did she straight up just die or what? kinda was rooting for them bc he was right. also, so much for being somewhat of a revolutionary in the opening episodes. should’ve shown that not everyone gets into a situation where you can bribe or curry favour with a billionaire to alleviate your struggles. thought charles’ character was more committed to that bit than he turned out to be. it was obvious that cailee was corrupted from the start.  anyway, all in all, much of it was a great sequel to the already HOF s1, but a little bit disappointed in where it ultimately went. never once did i feel at ease tho fs, and had to pause it multiple times out of cringe in situations or just straight unnerving moments, which is probably the aim so fair play. everything could’ve really gone smoothly tho if he just handed it over to the police, apart from cailee’s character. but honestly she would have needed that. everything there was so unhealthy
