Superman

"Now, you listen to me. When you first came to us, we thought people would come and take you away because, when they found out, you know, the things you could do... and that worried us a lot. But then a man gets older, and he starts thinking differently, and things get very clear. And one thing I do know, son, and that is you are here for a reason." It's become a yearly tradition at this point to watch this to begin the new year, and I'm glad I have this tradition. Superman is one of the best things to ever come into my life. The character entered my life at such a needed time, and he's helped me understand more about my world and my own consciousness. It sounds cringe as fuck, but I genuinely have to thank the character of Superman for me being here today. He's such a symbol of hope and justice, and he brings not just me but millions of people joy just by existing.
