Below

"Mister Loomis, where's our crew?" Since I first watched Below earlier this year I genuinely could not stop thinking about it for some reason so I felt an urge to revisit it, especially after falling back in love with David Twohy after watching Pitch Black. This was a whole lot better on a second viewing. The claustrophobic setting of the submarine here is absolutely perfect and the film creates a sense of dread from minute one and the palpable tension gradually escalates as the film progresses. Something I also missed on my first viewing of Below is the really excellent performances on show here, especially from Bruce Greenwood and Holt McCallany, two actors who could have become superstars with their talent, but I feel they are never really talked about and they are really excellent in this film.
