Materialists

i told my bestfriend the other day how we will never understand and fully know love and it's really just the celine song of it all i think of that one poem that's like not everything feels like something else... and in this sense... dating is not love and desire is not love and chemistry is not love... and it tries to exist in these places but i feel like humans struggle to make the feeling land and i think song tries to show this in the movie how love should be simple but bc we lIvE iN a SocIetY oh em gee we will never understand it like??? idk i always return to bell hooks asking abt how we understand love when love exists in systems of oppression + unequal power differentials in relationships :-P i'm so old and i still don't understand the stupid point i relate so much to pedro pascal's character saying love makes him feel like a child but maybe that's the point like maybe the point is no one knows how to do it? but it will happen anyway... to u and me whether we like it or not and we will both feel like 2 dumby idiots good luck <3
