Titanic
I really should log movies as soon as I finish them! Nearly two months later and here I am just logging another rewatch of a film I’ve been watching ever since I was nine. I’ve grown to not mind the dialogue and just accept it for what it is. I do remember this being an overwhelming experience, more so than the previous rewatches.
I still skip the present day scenes at the opening but every minute after that just flies by. Engrossing, spectacular, and for me, thought-provoking. Despite the differences in their social classes, every passenger in the Titanic still had something in common: they all wanted a better future for themselves. And it really was calming to me that even as early as 1912, there were already people (Kate Winslet’s Rose) who had these complex, indescribable feelings that make us human.
Titanic is a deeply personal movie for me. Maybe not one of my favorites, but it will always be a masterpiece to me from now on.
