Love Actually
Cheating Actually!
After rewatching this film I have a lot more negatives to bring to this. Not as strong star rating as before, but I still love this due to me having nostalgia towards this.
First of all what is it with 90% of romances that they love to romantize cheating. Like yeah I get Harry and Mia wasn't romantized, they were more of just drama, but that Juliet and Mark... like NO! I don't know how Mark and Juliet's story was my favorite before (well I do know because I'm a Rick Grimes glazer), but was that kiss really necessary. This film really lost a whole 0.5 points because of the cheating and managed to drop from my top 15 to top 30.
Well overall we all love Natalie and David's relationship. I mean clearly the best not even for debate. They're really just wholesome aren't they. Natalie isn't even fat??? But another story that holds close second place is Aurelia and Jamie. They're really uniquely written. Just amazing and wholesome interactions with a heartwhelming ending. Loved him learning Portuguese for her.
Sarah and Michael are just wonderful too. They really hold the third place easily. I would have wished a better and more finished ending for them. Another negative I do have is why are a lot of the screentimes feeling very short and a lot of the stories feeling unfinished and rushed. Yeah I know because there's a lot of stories, but it still is a negative point since they could have sacrificed some of the romances that come at the end in order to finish the main ones.
Sam and Joanna are so cute as well. I kind of was laughing at this dude for running the whole airport for her and him expecting for her not even to know his name. John and Judy is something we would call unexpected since well meeting in you know what. Their relationship felt kind of rushed too, but I still loved it. And the british dudes storyline... Yeah let's just forget about that one.
Alright that's about my opinion the main story lines. How about the pacing and plot overall? Well I do love the many love stories in one, but they do contain risks with the writing since many become rushed as I said what leaves it feeling unfinished. But the plot of many love stories will always be my thing. The pacing is AMAZING. It's truly beautifully structured and the film doesn't feel long at all even though it is. It has nonstop action drama romance going on which just doesn't have a boring spot on there.
Well Love Actually did drop down only a bit. I just wish cheating would stop being romantized. But I had a blast watching this once again. I ACTUALLY LOVE NATALIE AND DAVID!
