Now that was a Gregg Araki movie, wow. I don’t know if I’ve ever related to an Araki character the way I relate to Smith, what an awesome main character. Kaboom has everything that makes Gregg Araki’s films so great in it and more. We got homoeroticism, drugs, sexuality, sensuality, illicit relationships, cults, guns, apocalypse, the supernatural, death, a main character who just wants to have a boyfriend and be happy, and even James Duval. What more could you ask for? Now I’m in desperate need for a Gregg Araki comeback film in 2023, we need more movies like this.
