Mulholland Drive
One of Lynch’s best works, I love the way that so many people can have so many interpretations of his work and because of the way these films work, they’re all equally correct because Lynch does not make linear typical films that have concrete groundings in plots and it’s as equally challenging as it is masterful. To me this film captures the heart of being queer in such a beautiful inimitable way, the beauty, fear, guilt and uncertainty of it all is shown in its entirety unashamed of its messy nature. I won’t tell you that I understand this film because I never truly will but this movies become so much more impactful when you let go of the preconceived notion that the plot must go from A to B with a definitive ending point.
