This is why David lynch is the best filmmaker ever and nobody can literally ever top him, for a straight man he excels in this beautiful depiction of sapphic desire while also leaning in to his masterful control of the world of dreams and the fragility of reality and just commands raw emotions like nobody else, the theatre singing scene always brings me to tears and I literally cannot tell you why in words, it’s just a profoundly beautiful and touching scene that can only be done within film.
