Perfect Days
"Do two overlapping shadows become darker?"
"影が重なると、もっと暗くなるの?"
Perfect Days is one of the most beautiful and heartfelt movies ever made. It’s such a beautiful watch and always fascinating.
I love everything about this immaculate piece of art. What started as a Tokyo Toilet advertisement turned into, in my opinion, one of the best movies ever made.
Kōji Yakusho plays Hirayama so incredibly well. He feels so real that it almost doesn’t seem like you’re watching an actor anymore.
To me, this movie is about how different people’s lives are, how everyone suffers in their own way, and how they try to deal with it. In Hirayama’s case, he works every day and sticks to his routine to make everything seem okay. But being alone is exhausting, and I think the movie portrays that beautifully.
Perfect Days is one of my comfort movies and one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s truly something special, and I think everyone should watch it at least once.
