Pickpocket
The first time I watched it I really like it but since it was my first Robert Bresson movie I still feel a little disconnected from it but after some time passed I grew to love it and with this rewatch I now recognise all its self reflective and spiritual cinematic brilliance. Pickpocket's emotional core slowly builds and erupt like a volcano, I love how Bresson breaks and toys with cinematic conventions like editing and acting to create a off like tone that effectively makes the film feel wrong and dreading before putting it all back and building into one hell of a emotional and resonant breakthrough. A quiet yet blunt character study that truly push cinema to a whole new level, every filmmaker can only dream to reach the heights of Bresson with Pickpcket. It is truly a masterpiece. If you don't like it the first time you watched it please give it a rewatch, it feels almost like a whole new experience just more revealing, more powerful and more brilliant. This is one of the best rewatches I ever had, some films you rewatch and you still love it but nothing more comes from it but Pickpocket alongside Fellini 8½ is a gift that keeps on gifting with every revisitation.
