Django Unchained

it’s one of my favorite movies for a reason and that reason is the soundtrack.  the absolute best tracks were put in to make this movie feel like a modern take on a cruel past.  christoph waltz is utterly amazing as dr king schultz.  jamie foxx plays django with So much swagger after he puts that blue suit on.  leonardo dicaprio is Terrifying as the incestual plantation owner calvin candie.  and samuel l jackson plays stephen absolutely amazngly. you can see he’s the one who’s running things, not on your first watch but if you watch closely on rewatches you’ll see it.  the opening scene introduces our main characters great and shows their epic journey to get to candieland after that.  is it long? yeah. could it have been two parts? maybe, but it wouldn’t have felt as good.  and how could i talk about this movie without talking about the Oh so satisfying ending. we get the end to django and billy crash’s little rivalry (i don’t know if that’s the right word, but it’s the only one i could think of). and we also get the reveal that stephen was just putting on an act for the idiot that is calvin candie.  oh yeah, and the house blowing up is pretty badass.
