Dirty Harry
Holyyyyy shit.
Scorpio goes down in my books along with John Doe as the greatest serial killer in fiction. I’d have to second check that but as of right now thats how I feel.
Recently I’ve been reading up on Quentin Tarantino’s book, Cinema Speculation, where he talks a lot about the 70s in terms of cinema. He talks about the defining works of the 70s in his opinion, and goes in depth on the stories of the making of the films. Now while readin this book, I realized that many of the works Tarantino talks about, I haven’t seen, this including Dirty Harry, and bullitt. I only just finished the Dirty Harry analysis part of the book, but I really wanted to understand if his glaze for this movie could be backed up. Now after viewing, I can safely say, the glaze is worthy.
This film excels with the writing of the characters, the tension, the story, and the feeling I can only describe as “edge of your seat” entertainment, and it does it like almost no other film out there. Now before viewing this film, I was very tired and still am which just shows how much I loved this film because I’m writing a multi-paragraph review about it at 12 o’clock AM on a school day. but I can safely say that I am going to watch this again, sooner or later, on a day when I’m not tired. I know that when that day comes, I’m going to enjoy this film twice as much as I did this viewing. I mean for god sake, I had to watch this on an IPad with AirPods so my parents wouldn’t find out I’m watching a film this late!
Love the film btw 10/10
