Dirty Harry
One of the defining films of the 1970's, but somehow greatly underrated. This is my second watch of Don Siegal's Dirty Harry and I couldn't be more pleased.
I needed to remember why I gave this 5 stars last watch. sure there were many parts of this film that greatly stuck on to me, from the terrifying presence of the killer Scorpio, to the iconic "Well do ya punk" line of dialogue. Still, I was unsure if the film would hit like it did the second time. Happy to say I was as pleased, if not more pleased with this watch than my initial. Scorpio is still to me, one of the most underrated villains in film history. Rarely do you hear people adding him into the conversation which although he isn't up there with Vader and Joker, should still be mentioned. Really in all Dirty Harry is just so cool. Who knew that a cop who doesn't exactly go by the law would be such a thrilling watch. I will never be able to express my love for films like Dirty Harry such as Bullitt or The French Connection, because their style is so captivating and comforting, and it hasn't been replicated since.
