Heat

After Cinco De Mann-yo just a few days ago I’m officially declaring the month of May as Mann Mania. All of his work seems center around this strange emptiness to the world despite being surround by people and the obsessive addiction to one’s purpose is a combination that continues to speak to me every time I watch it. The casting might be the best ever from main characters all the way down to ones with just a scene, they’re all fully formed with no NPCs making it the definitive heist film set in the modern age, no question. Inspired everything from ripoffs, shows and even video games but the styling and attention to detail along with the depth of the entire crime saga that opens up the background from all major players is in a class of its own. There is no better time to dwell in isolation or recognize your inability to change than right before the summer months.
