On a small streak of some rain soaked thrillers so what better way to continue than this. 28 years ago today this was released in theaters and I think it’s absolutely insane how many boxes this checks for me, only gets better every rewatch. The two dueling outlooks of the world between Somerset and Mills with the way they shift are incredible as I’ve felt both their sides in different circumstances. Suffocatingly grim sophomore directorial effort from Fincher but there is still something so resonating about the various nihilistic themes that beat you down in what would be the start of carving out his own sub genre. Often a technical bleakness through atmosphere, plot, colors and camera action is the star attraction for David Fincher works so I’m getting very hyped for what I’ve seen from The Killer in November.
