Dune
I will never stop watching these films. Catching up again before I rewatch Part Two next week.
Revisiting this having seen Part Two I can really appreciate both Paul Atreides’ jump from boy to man between the two films, but also Timothee Chalamet’s jump from good actor to elite actor. The way we see this young boy in Part One flourish into the absolute force to be reckoned with in Part Two is masterful, and it’s really a testament to both the writing and his performance which are incredibly true to Frank Herbert’s vision of Paul.
Hans Zimmer’s score never ever gets old, and it’s evident that this film did a lot of the heavy lifting in terms of world building which allows Part Two to just turn everything up to a thousand percent. The first of many many rewatches. The more I watch this the more convinced I am that Dune is the best piece of science fiction ever.
