Sinners

i didn't expect to have such a strong response to sinners. i had a very strong feeling i would like it, but wow…this was a transcendental experience. i might be predisposed to enjoying it considering i'm irish and have a black great aunt from this time. the themes of loving people who you can't have but still care for just hit incredibly hard. i lied to you is one of the greatest sequences i have ever seen in film. i was completely paralyzed and crying the entire time. miles caton is one year and one day younger than me and gives one of the best performances of the decade AND it's his first film?? he's incredibly talented on every front and i can't wait to see what he does next because i was truly floored by him. jayme lawson and pale, pale moon has not been talked about enough. she gives it all during that song and it is impossible to take your eyes off her. she's so magnetic every time she's on screen. i can’t believe i waited so long to actually watch this and i was missing out. it is truly one of a kind.
