Phantom Thread

I always thought There Will Be Blood would always stay my favorite PTA film, but Phantom Thread might be one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s so thoughtfully crafted from start to finish every element feels intentional. The acting is some of the best I’ve ever seen. This is a film about power dynamics and the complexities of relationships, layered with incredible detail in a way unlike any other movie I’ve seen. The New Year's Eve balloon drop scene is absolutely stunning, it symbolizes the honeymoon phase of their relationship, which soon begins to unravel as their conflicts and problem’s surface. That moment, paired with the score, is executed perfectly. I really think more people need to see this film it’s a masterpiece by one of the best directors of all time.
