Spirited Away
When people change they gain a piece, but they lose one two.
When we’re young, we’re told stories of escape. Some of my earliest memories with cinema are films like Alice In Wonderland, The Wizard Of Oz and Star Wars. We’re told there’s worlds separate from ours that we should desire to reach, but our own world is already limitless. We are constantly moving, whether actively or inactively. We can often feel bound to a society of consumption, violence and hate that feels like it can never end, but we can escape within our own world. The train in Spirited Away is more than escape, its change. There’s nothing more powerful than the human mind in our natural world. More people need to remember that.
No matter what you’re doing, watch Spirited Away. If you’ve seen it before, watch it again. If you’re watching it right now, you’re doing it right. There’s an awful lot of beauty in the world.
