Ishtar

I would pay so much money for a Rogers & Clarke In Concert album, I am not even joking. Making this film was a dangerous business, this film bombed at the box office, with people feeling that Elaine May made the worst film ever which I disagree, this was an amazing film. The songs were amazingly terrible, Warren Beatty & Dustin Hoffman played against-type, with Warren Beatty playing the downer that Dustin Hoffman usually plays, and Dustin playing the ladies man, a role that Warren typically plays, it was hilarious. Charles Grodin was also cast against-type, he usually played soft guys, but this time he plays a scheming CIA Agent recruiting Chuck Clarke to help keep the Emir of Ishtar in power. This film was ahead of it's time, this film was made in a time when the public did not know the CIA trained & armed Mujihadeen fighters to combat the Soviet Union in the Soviet-Afghan War. This film was hilarious.
