In the age where Cable News reigns supreme, this film holds up extremely well, predicting the time where ratings, instead of information, is the key driver for news channels across America. Peter Finch performed an excellent performance as Howard Beale, a newscaster that gets fed up with the decay of American society via television and instead of getting fired by UBS (which is such a great name for a TV station that spews BS), they keep him on because of the ratings that he's bringing in. Faye Dunaway plays Diana Christensen, a Programmings executive that is hired to help bring the ratings of Howard's show through the roof. If there is any film from the 1970s that holds up today the most, it's this one.
