"Television isn't the truth; Television is a goddamned circus" - Howard 'The Mad Prophet of The Airways' Beale
I know what you all are thinking, Yes I have seen this only months ago, it's just that good of a film. Paddy Chayefsky wrote such a prophetic story about news television becoming entertainment and ratings driven, with that first being apparent when Howard announcing he's going to kill himself live on air, even saying that "The Public Affairs team has one week to promote the event". Petrr Finch's performance as Howard Beale is probably one of my favorite acting performances ever, just chilling, especially with the scene where he urges his viewers to "yell out the window I'm as mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore". This is the greatest American film ever, it will never not be relevant, especially to the current state of our society.
