Moneyball
How can you not be romantic about baseball?
Really interesting to see Sorkin slowed down in this way. With Fincher, Boyle, and the majority of the Newsroom, all of his jabs and zingers are played so big and absolute (which I love), but here (in this movie I haven’t seen since 2011), Miller stretches it out and lets the full weight of the story and the characters have their intended impact. It’s a lot more comprehensive than I remember, and with my newfound interest in baseball and Aaron, I enjoyed it much more.
Can you believe Brad Pitt did this and The Tree of Life in the same year?
