The Beatles: Get Back
The Beatles: Get Back - Part 3: Days 17-22
Directed by Peter Jackson
Starring John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr
Story: Part 3 of the Beatles: Get Back follows the band as they prepare and perform the iconic rooftop concert.
The Bad: During the rooftop section of the documentary the film cuts from several different perspectives all at once which was a bit disorienting at first...
The Good: But once you get used to it, it becomes a really intresting way to make the concert feel like a major event with everything pretty much happening chronologically. Peter Jackson is easily one of my favorite filmmakers ever, directing what is easily the best trilogy ever, that being the Lord of the Rings trilogy. And he continues to show his talent with amazing projects such as this, we need more documentaries like this where rather then being told what happens we are shown. Obviously that's not an option for some documentaries but this one has the upper hand because of the film crew in 1969. I really loved seeing the true dynamic between the band, there are so many rumors about who was the reason why the Beatles broke up, whether it be John, Paul, or Yoko. But this documentary kind of confirms that it's all of the above really and like most things in life, its a combination of a lot of things.
