One of the greatest movies I’ve seen. I thought watching several of kurosawa’s other films would prepare me (along with three other iterations of this film) but no. This film has so much to say about class consciousness, realities of war, and how people define their purpose in service. A movie that truly deserves to be loved for a long time.
