the grainy look of this movie is just gorgeous with the color grading, and don't even get me started on the PTA cinematography. this movie is a constant struggle for power in an inherently toxic relationship. the way that Reynolds' character is established and the tension that comes along with every moment he is on screen from then-point on is just astonishing. what a lovely, poisonous, complicated little christmas treat. "I want you flat on your back. Helpless, tender, open with only me to help. And then I want you strong again." "Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick."
