THIS MOVIE IS SO CUNT LIKE.. ITS OVERLOADING IN CUNT. joshua, millie, and nyla are literally an iconic friend group and i know they all would’ve loved Barbie.
everything about this movie i love, ESPECIALLY the writing. no one can deny this as a top tier modern slasher film. the dialogue is hilarious almost all the time, the kills are amazing, the plot is simple but elevated, and the story is heartwarming. there are so many iconic moments here that are just simply so cunt that i can’t breathe. the cinematography here absolutely ate, the practical effects are stunning, the score is amazing (ilysm Bear Creary), the editing is fantastic, the costumes are so cunt, and the production design is great. i genuinely love this film so fucking much. i understand some of the criticism the film gets particularly it’s 3rd act (ending) since it has two climaxes, but both of them ate so hard which is why idc too much. i definitely feel one of them could’ve been thrown as an alternate ending or something, or even edited together better but this movie is still fantastic.
Christopher Landon is genuinely an inspiration to me since he is a gay man writing, directing, and producing horror films. I NEED TO MEET HIM. this and Happy Death Day are two of my favorite horror films of all time like i’m being so for real. i cannot express this enough, if you haven’t seen this film WATCH IT AND JUST HAVE FUN. it’s an iconic horror comedy that came out right before COVID and was robbed of getting its full 3 month theatrical run it deserved.
also, i can’t wait to see what this man does next now that he (thankfully but unfortunately) left Scream 7. please give us a Happy Death Day / Freaky crossover or another original horror film. i need to attend one of your premieres just to meet you istg.
