Almost Famous

2000 | Cameron Crowe | Billy Crudup | Frances McDormand | Noah Taylor | Philip Seymour Hoffman | Zooey Deschanel | Fairuza Balk "Almost Famous" is more than just a film, it's an experience. The film has a beautiful melancholic story that is wholesome and entertaining yet still tragic and made me escape reality. I was completely drawn into it throughout and just absolutely enjoyed and felt everything that happened. The film looks beautiful and the soundtrack is fucking amazing and the ensemble cast is outstanding without exception. The whole film feels very authentic and the characters all feel realistic and Cameron Crowe manages to portray each one in a nuanced manner and makes everyone sympathetic and still flawed. In addition, the film is highly quotable and lines up one iconic and great scene after the next and is simply memorable as a whole. "Almost Famous" exceeded my expectations by miles and completely pulled me into it’s world and time and gave me a fantastic time. I'm really looking forward to rewatching this one.
