Django Unchained

This and The Other Guys went back and forth for the entirety of the 2010s as my favorite movie. While the latter remains in my top 10 to this day, I wasn’t sure where Django would rank for me after seeing it no more than once in the last decade. Since the time that it is what I considered my favorite movie, I’ve existed adolescence and entered my mid-twenties, and my taste in movies has shifted accordingly; I’m much more drawn to dramas than action movies anymore.  I’m glad to say, however, that it is still ranks pretty high. Waltz’s character and performance are still incredible, Sam Jackson has maybe a career best performance, the screenplay is stuffed, but none of it feels unnecessary. This is simply a perfect movie.
