Man… what a letdown. I’ve been waiting four years for this movie, and Fear Street: Prom Queen turned out to be an absolute mess. It honestly might be the worst one in the whole series. I don’t know what Matt Palmer was thinking, but this just didn’t work on any level.
The story was weak, predictable, and all over the place. It never built any tension, never delivered any real scares, and the pacing was just off. The characters were super bland—I didn’t care about a single one of them. It felt like the movie wanted us to be invested, but didn’t give us any reason to be.
And then there’s Chris Klein. I actually think he’s a solid actor and could’ve been an awesome killer if they gave him something to work with. He had the potential to be a creepy, intimidating slasher like the Nightwing killer from Fear Street Part 2. But nope—they gave him a trash script and a character that went nowhere.
To top it all off, the ending was complete garbage. No payoff, no surprise, just a rushed and lazy finish that made me wonder why I even bothered getting excited for this in the first place. Huge disappointment. This one completely missed the mark.
