Never watched this film before and I thought as a huge war film enjoyer and someone who is in the marines that this movie would be bangin. Nope, I was wrong, this movie pretty much sucks all over. As per usual, I’ll start with the bad, and boy there’s a lot of it. What the fuck was that script, the way the marines in this movie talked, it made my skin crawl, they sounded like a bunch of losers and weirdos, like yeah, the military is like that but we sure as hell don’t talk like that all the time and if you do, we gonna clown you. Cringe worthy dialog. 2, this movie was lowkey kinda boring, even the big action sequences were dull. Another thing, this gunny would’ve been sent to the brig like the first day for literally shooting at people at random, so stupid. The romance was bland, it was just all around bad. Really the only good part is the training scenes. Yeah, this one was a slogfest. Also side note, like 90% of the vehicles and other equipment is shit still in use today. God help us all.

esse aqui é muito parecido com top gun só que invertido, porque o protagonista que é durão e tem que lidar com o corpo de fuzileiros sendo teimosos e não respeitando ninguém além deles mesmos. eu amo filmes de guerra, principalmente esses que retratam a marinha, exército ou aeronáutica então vocês podem imaginar qual foi a minha reação em ver o eastwood dirigindo e protagonizando um filme dessa temática (e eu meio que descobri esse filme por acaso há um tempinho atrás) é muito interesse ver o desenvolvimento deles, do pelotão e do próprio sargento thomas highway.

é um dos vários filmes de clint eastwood em que ele olha para si mesmo e para sua idade, reflete sobre o que foi e o que ainda pode ser no futuro, mas ganha um elemento de choque de gerações, quase como temos hoje em dia com tantas pessoas brigando sobre gerações x e z, millenials vs geração Z/alpha, mas no filme Thomas Highway tem que lidar com superiores bem mais jovens e sem nenhuma experiência de combate.

ironicamente, é do mesmo ano de top gun e eu realmente vejo semelhança, mas também com esses filmes de guerra lançados ano após ano, por mais que tenham plots diferentes, também tem uma narrativa similar quando é pra desenvolver os personagens indisciplinados e colocar uma motivação no personagem que antes era pessimista com tudo na vida, e eu gosto disso, assim como gostei desse aqui também.
