Rebecca, the daughter of missionary Lawrence Byrne, was declared a “miracle” after she survived a plane crash as a child, deep in the Amazon Forest. Years later, Rebecca, who became a famous healer in the region, and her father find themselves embroiled in an escalating conflict when illegal loggers invade the land belonging to the indigenous people they are evangelizing.

juste un prétexte pour parler de la déforestation, c’est légitime mais j’ai vu mieux (Antigone in the Amazon)

I'm not sure how I feel about this one—I did like it, but I think there were too many things happening at the same time and not a lot of them got resolved to my satisfaction/in an interesting way.

Beautifully shot and gorgeous soundscape though.

I feel conflicted about the religious element—maybe it's me, but I would have expected more evaluation/comment. Could just be my deep hatred for evangelicals however
