A really interesting and stripped down version of the seagull. I wish it had more, because some parts became extremely dry. The second act is really hard to engage with after taking a break at intermission. Still, it was hypnotic and the acting was superb and truthful in a self aware way that Chekhovs writing demands, and usually never gets. It takes its self too seriously in all the right places.
