Since the 1930s, the legendary family-run Hotel Messina has been visited by artists, celebrities and royalty.  When the current owner’s daughter falls for a dashing young soldier, the hallways are ringing with the sound of wedding bells.  However, not all the guests are in the mood for love, and a string of deceptions soon surround not only the young couple, but also the steadfastly single Beatrice and Benedick.

Benedick: I do love nothing in the world so well as you—is not that strange?

This was so so good and I’m glad I watched it (even if it was partially because I’m doing a mini course on Shakespeare)My reward for finally sitting down to watch something is getting to read another book

Last time i watched this the Queen had died, it only makes sense I watch this when Charles is rushed to hospital.

In other news I think Katherine Parkinson’s if I were a man monologue is the best of every adaptation of this play. It is so raw and so real I cannot help but think that I’ve had the exact same conversation myself.

Absolutely incredible production design, literally so so gorgeous. Perfect costumes and set and the MUSICAL NUMBERS I am gagged. Literally obsessed. Still unable to watch Shakespeare and understand it the first time BUT this was stunning and I had a good time!
