The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black: Teather Penumbra
kembra pfahler is so instantly iconic and hellishly vivacious that it is IMPOSSIBLE to not have a blast with the work shes a part of. this gritty, grimy display is dripping in (se)pulchritude, totally irreverent and yet so immensely glorious. the props are fantastic and really deliver on the camp fun that i expect from the underground cultural scene of new york from this time period, but beyond that they encapsulate so well joy that this project inspires. i dont always gravitate towards this sort of music, but i did certainly enjoy it - oh diane was my favourite - and its undeniable that pfahler and co are talented. definitely worth watching not just this, but multiple sets of theirs (- the knitting factory one is great).
