I wish Todd Fields would direct a coming of age feature film like this one. To an extent Little Children features coming of age aspects but not quite like this. This one captures the fragility of childhood experiences and the difference in a child's perception of the world. Field takes on a certain sensitivity with the portrayal of moments of confusion and disappointment which feels oddly comforting. Overall, my favourite Field short so far and I think I have now finished watching all of his available works.
